Love Eco

So it’s fairtrade fortnight again and another round of voxpops with the great british public about whether they buy fair trade. The typical response of course is “yes…coffee, chocolate and now bananas”.

This isn’t a cynicist trying to undermine what is undoubtedly one of the most important social and political movements of recent times. It simply illustrates that we shouldn’t rest on our laurels and as consumers we need to educate oursleves and each other about how the goods we buy are produced.

At Love Eco we work with our suppliers to understand the origin of our products. We can’t let fairtrade fade away or allow it to be pigeonholed to a few food goods synonymous with exploitation in developing countries. After all fairtrade is forever.
